Website quote checklist for Luxembourg

Website quote checklist for Luxembourg

Before you ask for a website quote, prepare six things: your goals, your audience and languages, your content, the pages and features you need, details of your current website and domain, and a realistic budget and timing. With these answers on one page, which works as a simple website brief, it is much easier to get a clear quote and to choose between a template website and a custom website. Here is a checklist you can copy.

Website brief checklist: the short version

  1. Goals: what the website should do for your business.
  2. Audience and languages: who visits, and in which languages.
  3. Content: texts, photos, logo and brand colours, and who provides them.
  4. Pages and features: whether 5 pages are enough, or you need more.
  5. Current website and domain: what exists today and what to keep.
  6. Budget and timing: your price range and any fixed dates.

You don't need every answer before you get in touch. Even a half-finished brief makes the first conversation more useful.

1. What should your website do for your business?

Start with the result you want, not the design. A website that should bring in quote requests needs a different structure from one that mainly shows your work or answers common questions.

Copy and fill in:

  • The main action a visitor should take (request a quote, book an appointment, visit your shop, ask a question)
  • Your two or three most important services or products
  • What makes your business different, in one or two sentences
  • Two or three websites you like, and what you like about each

2. Who are your visitors, and which languages do they use?

In Luxembourg, your customers may read French, German, English or Luxembourgish, and cross-border customers add to the mix. Each language version is part of the scope, so it belongs in your brief.

Copy and fill in:

  • Your main customer groups (for example other businesses, local residents or cross-border customers)
  • The languages your website needs at launch, and any you may add later
  • Who will provide the text in each language
  • A few searches your customers might type to find a business like yours, and the questions they often ask you

The last point helps with SEO and AEO: your website can answer those questions in plain words, so both search engines and AI assistants understand what you offer. 8digit works with you in English, French, German, Luxembourgish or Dutch, so you can write your brief in whichever language you prefer.

3. Your content: texts, photos and branding

Content is usually the part that takes the longest to prepare. Collecting it early is the best way to keep your project on schedule.

Copy and fill in:

  • Your logo, ideally in a high-quality file
  • Brand colours and fonts, if you have them
  • Texts for each page, or notes on what each page should say
  • Photos of your team, premises, products or completed work
  • Customer reviews you have permission to use
  • The company details you show on your legal notice page
  • One person on your side who gathers the content and gives feedback, and the date they can deliver it

4. Pages and features: does it fit in 5 pages?

A template website from 8digit has 5 pages with your text and images. For many small businesses, that covers everything: for example a homepage, services, about, projects or references, and contact.

A custom website is the step up. It is designed from scratch, around your business, when you need a design that is entirely your own, a more complex structure or special features.

Copy and fill in:

  • The pages you need, with one line on the purpose of each
  • Any features beyond a contact form, such as online booking, a blog or news section, or a product catalogue
  • Content you want to update yourself regularly, such as projects or news

5. Your current website and domain

If you already have a website, it is a useful starting point: it shows what works today and what is missing.

8digit builds only in Webflow. A redesign therefore means rebuilding your site as a new Webflow project, even if your current site runs on another platform.

Copy and fill in:

  • The address of your current website, if you have one
  • What you want to keep, such as texts, photos or page structure
  • What you want to change, and why
  • Your domain name, and who manages it today
  • Who has the login details for your domain and current website

6. Budget and timing

A price range helps you get a quote that matches what you want to spend. As a guide, at 8digit:

  • Starting price: Template website: from €2,500 incl. 17% TVA. Custom website: from €5,000 incl. 17% TVA.
  • What you get: Template website: 5 pages with your text and images. Custom website: Designed from scratch for your business.
  • Timing: Template website: Live in about a month. Custom website: Agreed in your quote.
  • Built in: Template website: Webflow. Custom website: Webflow.

For both, you pay a 50% non-refundable deposit to start and the rest on completion. Hosting is €49 per month incl. 17% TVA or €539 per year (pay yearly, get 1 month free), with a 12-month term; the domain is billed separately. You can find more on our Custom and template websites (prices).

Copy and fill in:

  • Your budget range for the website
  • Any fixed date, such as an opening, an event or a new product launch
  • Who in your business approves the quote and the final website

FAQ

What should I prepare before asking for a website quote?

Prepare six things: your goals, audience and languages, content, the pages and features you need, details of your current website and domain, and a budget range. A one-page website brief with these answers is enough to start a clear conversation with 8digit.

Do I need my texts and photos ready before I ask for a quote?

No. You can ask for a quote before your content is finished. It helps to say who will provide each text and photo and by when, because content is often the part that takes the longest and can delay the launch.

How do I know whether I need a template or a custom website?

If your business fits on 5 pages and you want to be live in about a month, a template website from €2,500 incl. 17% TVA is often the right fit. If you need a design that is entirely your own, more pages or special features, a custom website from €5,000 incl. 17% TVA is the step up. For the full comparison, read Template or custom website? Luxembourg prices.

Who writes the website brief, me or 8digit?

You know your business best, so start with the checklist on this page, even if some answers are still open. Share what you have through the contact form, or schedule a meeting there to go through it; you can then complete the brief together with us.

What is a website brief (cahier des charges)?

A website brief is a short document that explains your goals, languages, content, pages and budget before work starts. It is the same idea as a French « cahier des charges » for a site. You do not need a long document: one filled page is enough to request a quote.

Ready to share your brief?

Fill in what you can and send it to us through the contact form, even if some answers are still open. You can also schedule a meeting there to go through your brief together.
